A Journey in Photography: From Avid Interest to Ardent Career
David gained an avid interest in photography while serving in the United States Marine Corps, documenting his travels to countries such as, Australia, Singapore, Kenya, Somalia, Hong Kong, Greece, Spain and others. He served as a Marine Security Guard for the United States Consulate in Alexandria, Egypt and later was attached to the United States Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. David’s drive for photography continued throughout his time in the Marine Corps.
Upon honorable completion of service David pursued his interest in photography academically, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Arts. Technical skills and artistic insight , advanced through education, combined with real-world practical experience provided the foundation to turn an avid interest into an ardent career.
David’s career began with a major sporting retailer, where he honed his skill in product, location and fashion photography. After six years he was recruited and offered an opportunity to work with a well-known watch and fashion retailer in the Dallas, Texas area. While there he expanded his skill as a product and fashion photographer both in-studio and on location. Throughout David’s career he has worked long-term with a number of well-known companies. Today, he is a highly skilled and versatile independent, Freelance, photographer who specializes in jewelry and product photography.
